Why we built Cameroon Hymns
The Catholic and Presbyterian hymnals in one searchable app that keeps working when the network drops. Here is the story behind Cameroon Hymns.
The hymn is announced. Hymn 104. Around you, people flip through worn hymnbooks, share a copy with a neighbour, or try to remember the second verse. Someone opens their phone, but the network is weak inside the church, and the page will not load.
That moment is why we built Cameroon Hymns.
One app, the hymnals you sing from
Cameroon Hymns brings the Catholic and Presbyterian hymnals together in one clean app for iPhone and Android. Pick your hymnbook once, and switch any time.
Finding a hymn takes seconds, however you remember it:
- By number, when it is announced at Mass or service.
- By title, when you know its name.
- By a line of the lyrics, when only a few words come to mind.
Built for the church, not the coverage map
Churches, village halls and choir practice rooms are not always where the signal is best. So Cameroon Hymns downloads the hymns on first launch and then works fully offline. No data bundle needed on Sunday morning, and no waiting for a page to load while everyone else is already singing.
Small things that matter
- Favourites: mark the hymns you sing most and find them again in one tap.
- Text size: make the words larger for easy reading, or smaller to see a whole verse.
- Dark mode: easier on the eyes in a dim church or at an evening vigil.
Why a studio builds a hymnal
At Kitendo we build software for clients, but we also ship and run our own products. Cameroon Hymns is one of them. It is a small app with real users, which keeps us honest about the things that matter in every product: speed, reliability on poor networks, and a design that gets out of the way.
What’s next
We keep improving the app with feedback from choirs and congregations. If a hymn has a typo, or your parish sings from a hymnal we do not have yet, tell us at contact@kitendo.net.

Singing is praying twice. We hope Cameroon Hymns helps you do both.
